A trip to a burn area in the Deschutes National Forest in Oregon. Thinking about the forest fire that caused so much damage to the Davis Lake area, but then seeing the new growth springing forth, I thought I would do a series on the forest recovery. As I began to work on my first photo, I found myself compiling more photos into an exploration of the fire itself. If you look closely – you may see 2 faces in the burnt stump.
Photographs, handmade papers, textured papers, etched copper plate – digitally layered and manipulated.
